Sculptural and parametric, the furniture designed by Sophia Chraïbi Giorgi embodies a conceptual approach to design.
Her practice transcends mere function and aesthetics, asking the ways we inhabit the world.
Through the selection of eco-conscious materials, the hybridization of fabrication processes, and poetic symbolism, each SCG creation tells a story that resonates with contemporary ways of living.
Each collection is an experience; Papyrus celebrates nonchalance as a poetic act. Diogenes, the library armchair, offers a protective refuge—a sanctuary that stimulates creative thought. As for Miswane, the anti-chair, it wittily questions the supposed universality of the seated posture, inviting an offbeat reflection.
After architecture school in France and interior design in Morocco,
Her passion for traditional decorative arts, her contemporary vision, and her sensitivity naturally led her toward furniture design. As early as 2009, she began collaborating with artisans, creating furniture pieces for her interior architecture projects in which she already asserted a refined aesthetic.
In 2012, she embarked on research and development focused on pragmatic eco-designed furniture, self-publishing her own prototypes. Since then, SCG has continued to explore the principle of modularity, presenting her pieces at exhibitions dedicated to design and contemporary art. Her singular practice is thus confirmed, navigating freely between art, function, and symbolic aesthetics.
